Who we are

NSF Labs provides Appointed Times, an independent Bible chronology game for Android, iPhone and iPad. This policy describes the current app and these help pages. It is not an official JW.org app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Jehovah’s Witnesses or their publishers.

Privacy contact: [email protected].

Solo play and information on your device

You do not need an account for solo play. Saved rounds, placement history, scores, discovered cards, daily completion records, appearance, text size and a custom room-service address stay in app storage. On phones and tablets the app uses platform preferences and local web storage; the browser edition uses local storage. NSF Labs does not receive your solo history through an analytics or synchronization service.

Your device or operating-system backup and transfer services may copy app data according to your device settings. Appointed Times does not provide its own cloud backup or cross-device synchronization. Fonts and game content are bundled with the app.

Optional Play Together

When you open Play Together with a configured service, the app contacts that service. Hosting, joining or displaying a room sends room settings, a chosen nickname (players only), room and session identifiers, selections, timing/readiness information and scores. The service receives your IP address and ordinary network-request information. This is used to run the game, reconnect your session, calculate scores and limit abusive requests.

Other people in the same room and its shared display can see nicknames, scores and game results. Choose a nickname that does not identify you and share room links only with people you trust. Session credentials stored on your device authorize your room role; do not share them.

In the supplied room service, rooms expire four hours after creation and expired room rows are removed from the active database while the service runs. Closing a room ends play but is not immediate deletion. IP-based rate-limit counters are short-lived in memory. The application does not deliberately write request access logs, but hosting providers, proxies and backups can retain additional records under their own settings.

The current native build has no default NSF-hosted room service. If you enter a custom HTTPS service address, its operator receives the multiplayer information and controls hosting, logs, backups and deletion. Consult that operator’s policy before connecting. This policy will be updated with the production hosting and retention arrangements before an NSF-hosted service is released.

Sharing results, source links and support

Sharing is optional and uses your device’s share sheet or clipboard. The destination you choose receives the shared result; its privacy policy applies. Reading a source opens an external website, such as JW.org or Watchtower Online Library, which receives normal web-request information. Appointed Times does not receive your external browsing history.

If you email NSF Labs, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send through our email provider. We use them to answer the request and keep correspondence as needed to resolve the issue and meet applicable obligations. Please avoid sending private room credentials or sensitive personal information. Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.

Website and service providers

These policy and manual pages are delivered through Cloudflare, which processes network and security information such as IP addresses and request metadata to serve and protect the site. These pages do not load advertising, behavioral analytics or remote fonts. The broader NSF Labs website and any external sites can have different resources and practices. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Your choices and deletion

You can use solo play offline, avoid Play Together, decline to share results and avoid opening external links. Appointed Times has no user account to delete. To remove local data on Android, use the system app settings to clear storage; on iOS/iPadOS, delete the app (offloading preserves its data); in a browser, clear this site’s storage. Device backups, exported or shared results, recipient copies and server-side room records are separate and are not deleted by clearing app storage. Manage backups through the relevant operating-system service.

For access, correction or deletion of information held by NSF Labs, email the privacy contact above. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, obtain a copy, withdraw consent where applicable, or complain to your local data-protection authority. For a custom room service, contact that operator.

No advertising or tracking; children and security

The app has no advertising, behavioral analytics, cross-app tracking or data sales. It does not request camera, microphone, contacts or location access. It does not ask for a real name, birth date, religious affiliation or other profile information. Participation in a Bible-themed game may itself suggest an interest; we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of shared rooms, external links and sharing. Do not submit a child’s personal information in a nickname or support message. If you believe personal information from a child was provided to NSF Labs, contact us so we can address it.

Remote room services must use HTTPS in normal use. Session authorization restricts room roles, but no system can promise absolute security. Hosting and support providers may process information outside your country. We may disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users and the service.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the app’s practices change and revise the date below. Material changes that require notice or consent will be presented as required before they apply.
